Expert support for high-performance leadership
The skills of the individuals who make up an organisation’s top team and how well they work together are crucial for determining future success. Owen Morris provides a wide and practical range of 1:1 and team-oriented leadership support services.
Leadership is about driving a team forward in a chosen direction in a way that matches its capabilities with external opportunities and engages everyone involved with a strong sense of united purpose.
At Owen Morris, we believe in equipping every director or senior manager with a holistic, ‘total process’ view of leadership, rather than overstressing one area like motivation or communication. We believe in ‘10 key roles’ of leadership: i) vision & values setter ii) trends sense-maker iii) innovator/change agent iv) organiser/developer v) inspirer/motivator vi) coach vii) driver/pace-setter viii) role model ix) relationship builder and x) communicator.
We provide 1:1 and small-group coaching covering the above ‘total process’ of leadership, and, as needed, for focused elements within the process. Every programme is designed specially to suit each client, but we usually use a combination of face-to-face sessions backed up with carefully integrated 1:1 telephone and internet-based support.
Top team reviews & development
A high-performing organisation needs, of course, not just well-skilled individual leaders, but for the top-team itself to be skilfully led, together with a well-designed management structure and strong, supportive management processes. We can provide expert support on all these fronts.
We can provide highly-tailored and flexible support to organisation chairs, chief executives or other senior leaders to help turn a leadership group into a tight, high-performance leadership team and define effective mechanisms for managing and developing that team. We can objectively – and diplomatically - review and advise on all issues to do with structures, individual management roles, current job holders’ competences and development needs, relationships between people and functions, together with associated management processes and policies.
Strategy & marketing training
We provide flexible 1:1 coaching and small group training to help directors, senior managers, executives and other staff in the vital areas of strategy and marketing.
Our strategy training can include, for example: how to think strategically and creatively; the overall strategic management process; assessing an organisation’s external and internal position; turning a vision into a strategy; how to prepare a business plan; effective implementation of plans; and change management. Our marketing training can range from how to develop an overall marketing plan to tips on how to use social media.
